Cost:
– Participants from industrialized countries enrolling before April 11: EUR 400 (USD 569), from April 11 to July 15: EUR 500 (USD 711), after July 16: EUR 600 (USD 853)
– A discount of EUR 50 (USD 71) is available on all of the above prices to participants for developing countries and various other discounts are available for groups and students
Summary of Event:
The summit will convene microfinance practitioners, advocates, investors, donors and others committed to the campaign’s two main goals that have been set for 2015, which are to ensure that (1) 175 million of the world’s poorest families are receiving credit for self-employment and other financial and business services and (2) 100 million of the world’s poorest families move above the USD 1.25 per day poverty threshold, adjusted for purchasing power parity. The participants will also assess progress, share best practices and visit microfinance institutions around the world in the days before the summit. More than 2,000 delegates, including HM Queen Sofia and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, are expected to attend the event.

– Using microfinance to ensure sustainable rural livelihoods and food security while mitigating climate change
– Addressing challenges to microfinance: over-indebtedness, client dropouts, collection practices, interest rates, mission drift, governance structure
– Developing a “seal of excellence” for poverty outreach and transformation in microfinance
– Product diversification, including microinsurance and microsavings
– Strategies and products for serving the elderly
– Setting client protection guidelines
