Event Name: Developing Inclusive Financial Systems: The CGAP Course for Funders of Microfinance

Event Description: This course provides participants with knowledge of the microfinance industry and tools needed to make financing decisions. It will use case studies and group work based on real-life situations. It also involves a visit to a MFI. Those who opt to attend the full course (5 days) will be able to attend both sessions and practical application of principles learned, while those staying for the short course (3 days) will receive an overview of the fundamentals of microfinance.

Summary of Event: This is a course for donors or investors who are recent to microfinance, who seek to gain a better understanding of the microfinance field and latest trends, as well as the details on how to effectively fund different kinds of interventions.

Background on Organizer: CGAP is an independent policy and research center that aims to advance financial access for people in poverty. Housed at the World Bank, CGAP provides market intelligence, promotes standards, develops innovative solutions and offers advisory services to governments, microfinance providers, donors, and investors.
