Background on Organizers: Villgro, established in 2001, seeks to create sustainable businesses that make poor people “stakeholders in their own growth.” The event is sponsored by investment partners including Artha, Menterra and Venture Center as well as donors including the Lemelson Foundation, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, and the UK government.
