MICROFINANCE EVENT: SPTF, Smart Campaign Present Inclusive Digital Future: A Summit on Responsible Finance in Action; June 25 - 27, 2019; Nairobi, Kenya

This summit will focus on topics related to the question: “How do we promote inclusion and trust in digital financial services while fostering innovation and growth?” Sessions will include a Data Security Workshop, Digital Finance in Action lecture, Responsible Digital Transformation case study and a presentation on Models for Responsible Digital Transformation. Background on Organizers: The Inclusive Digital Future summit is organized by the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) and the Smart Campaign. SPTF, founded in 2005, is a nonprofit membership organization working to improve the social performance management (SPM) of microfinance institutions. Social performance management refers to the systems that organizations use to achieve their social goals and put customers at the center of strategy. These strategies include defining and monitoring social goals, developing client-centric products and services, treating clients and employees responsibly, and balancing social and financial performance. Launched in 2010, the Smart Campaign is a consumer-protection initiative of the US-based nonprofit Accion. The Smart Campaign’s activities include supporting microfinance institutions in addressing client grievances and being transparent in the pricing and other terms of the financial products they offer.
