MICROFINANCE EVENT: Social Entrepreneurship World Forum; October 23-25, 2019; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The 12th annual Social Entrepreneurship World Forum offers plenaries and workshops such as: (1) Social Entrepreneurship Addressing the Challenges of Migration; (2) Government Policy, Strategy and Support – Realising the Potential of Social Enterprise; and (3) Social Enterprise Impact – the Need for Better Research and Teaching. Other sessions will cover the impact of social entrepreneurship in particular sectors, such as tourism, health and agriculture.

Event Organizer: The British Council is a UK-based cultural and educational outreach organization that is dedicated to teaching English and increasing access to education internationally. The British Council operates social enterprise projects in 29 countries. This includes training future social entrepreneurs, hosting events, and collecting data through surveys and research. The 2018 Social Entrepreneurship World Forum in Edinburgh, Scotland, hosted approximately 1,200 attendees.

Cost: The full fee to attend is GBP 499 (USD 605), but discounts are available to students and representatives of social enterprises, as well as based on nationality.
