About United States Agency for International Development (USAID): The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is a government agency that provides international economic and humanitarian assistance. It focuses on areas such as economic growth, agriculture, trade, global health, democracy, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance. Under the Development Credit Authority (DCA), it provides partial credit guarantees that cover up to 50 percent of defaults on loans made by private financial institutions to institutions that lend to underserved borrowers.
About Microenterprise Learning Information and Knowledge Sharing (microLINKS): microLINKS is a platform of applications and tools that is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a US-based government agency that provides international economic and humanitarian assistance. microLINKS is designed to expand the impact of USAID’s microenterprise programs and activities. It provides information on microenterprise, best practices, resources from USAID missions, reports and tools. microLINKS also hosts online discussion forums known as “Speakers Corners.”
About Knowledge-Driven International Development (KDID) Portal: KDID is an initiative of the Knowledge-Driven Microenterprise Development (KDMD) project of the USAID Microenterprise Development office. It is a group of websites whose goal is to connect microfinance professionals through learning opportunities and to share innovation and best practices. Each website offers access to resources and knowledge-sharing activities. microLINKS, a website that provides access to applications and tools related to microfinance, is part of KDID.
