Clowd9, a UK-based payment processing platform, recently hired the Switzerland-based software company Netcetera to augment its digital payment security. Clowd9 connects financial services providers (FSPs) using a decentralised model whereby transactions are processed by virtual servers across the world, helping FSPs clear payments made using bank cards, cryptocurrency and other methods.
The role of the Netcetera system is to handle access control and authenticate transactions. Netcetera’s Access Control Server is used by 200 FSPs.
Founded in 1996, Netcetera operates in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. The company provides services in numerous sectors, covering the information technology “life-cycle, from strategy to implementation and operation.” Netcetera employs approximately 1,000 personnel and services 2,500 banks and card issuers through which 160,000 merchants utilise its payments security solution.
