The Luxembourg House of Financial Technology Foundation (LHoFT), a public-private partnership, is hosting the fifth iteration of its Catapult: Inclusion Africa event. The aim is to support financial inclusion in Africa through financial technology (fintech) by connecting 10 winning companies to “microfinance institutions, investors and industry experts….” To be eligible, companies already must have developed a viable product that is relevant to financial inclusion in Africa. Each also must commit to sending one of its founders to the Catapult: Inclusion Africa in-person sessions – to be held during the week of October 24, 2022 – and providing LHoFT with information on the trajectory of the business for three years after the event. The application deadline is September 15, 2022.
Founded in 2017 and based in the city of Luxembourg, LHoFT aims to drive innovation in the fintech and broader financial services industries by connecting organizations across the globe. Among its services are a co-working space and Catapult: Kickstarter, a development program for fintech providers worldwide. As of 2022, LHoFT works with approximately 110 startups. Its other partners include the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce; the city of Luxembourg; the University of Luxembourg; and a range of technology, professional services and financial services companies.
