Incofin Investment Management (Incofin IM), a Belgian company that manages six microfinance funds, recently received a EUR 1 million (USD 1.29 million) equity investment from Gimv, a Belgium-based investment company. The investment is intended to help Incofin as it makes changes to comply with the European Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFM) Directive that will put private equity and hedge funds under a European Union regulatory body. Further information on the investment such as the percentage share of Incofin to be held by Gimv has not been released.
Incofin cvso, a Belgian investment fund managed by Incofin IM, also recently made a EUR 1 million (USD 1.29 million) investment in Incofin IM.
As of 2012, Incofin manages eight funds and facilities with outstanding investments with a total value of EUR 350 million (USD 454 million) in approximately 40 countries. As of 2012, Gimv manages approximately EUR 1.8 billion (USD 2.3 billion) in 85 portfolio companies.
