MICROCAPITAL BRIEF: Microinsurance Network Technology Working Group to Launch Online Microinsurance Technology Inventory

The Microinsurance Network Technology Working Group, a branch of the Microinsurance Network that focuses on technology as a means of increasing access to insurance in developing countries, is launching an online microinsurance technology inventory.

According to a press release from the Microinsurance Network, “The objective of the microinsurance technology inventory is to provide the microinsurance community with an overview of technologies that can be used for the administration of insurance products for the low-income population.”

The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Microinsurance Innovation Facility and the Microinsurance Network will fund the initiative, which will be conducted by the Netherlands-based firm, Berende Consulting.

About the Microinsurance Network:

The Microinsurance Network was first established in 2002 as the CGAP Working Group on Microinsurance. The organization aims to promote the development of good-value insurance products for low-income populations by providing a platform for information sharing and stakeholder coordination. It has 52 member organizations. There is no financial information available on the organization.
