MicroSave, a microfinance consulting company established in 1998, has partnered with the Microfinance Focus website in a strategic alliance to promote microfinance knowledge sharing and dissemination with an emphasis on engaging diverse and geographically dispersed practitioners.
Graham A.N Wright, Programme Director of MicroSave said, “With an emergent sector the need for information sharing has become even more pertinent and we hope to contribute in their efforts of plugging in the knowledge and information gap in the sector.”
About MicroSave:
Established in Uganda in 1998, MicroSave is a technical assistance, training and resource center. According to its website, it was designed and financed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Official Development Aid (ODA) to address the mono-credit culture prevalent in East and Southern Africa. In 2008, MicroSave was transformed into a consulting company, which has since completed projects in Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. MicroSave has also established a presence in India with support from ICICI Bank.
About Microfinance Focus:
Microfinance Focus publishes articles and editorials that address the social and business aspects of the international microfinance market, with a focus on India. The editors and advisory board of Microfinance Focus view the concept of microfinance as a means for promoting the sustainable and holistic growth of “poor-owned” businesses in order to alleviate the effects of poverty.
