According to a statement attributed to Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) CEO Oscar Onyema, the upcoming World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa will be an opportunity for Nigerian enterprises to seek funding. The forum will address issues including: strengthening Africa’s leadership in the global economic environment, accelerating investment in frontier markets and scaling innovation. According to Mr Onyema, financing presents a key challenge in Africa, and NSE will seek financial access for companies of all sizes at the forum. He also reportedly argued that Nigeria commands a strong marketing bloc and has significant banking industry expertise, which he hopes will lead to a strong showing at the forum.
The forum will take place May 9 to May 11 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
