MICROCAPITAL EVENT: Parishkaar Advisory Services of India Hosts Three Day Training on Process Mapping For Managing Microfinance Institutions

PROCESS MAPPING TRAINING

JANUARY 6 – 8, 2009, HYDERABAD, INDIA

Parishkaar Advisory Services, an international consulting firm servicing SMEs including microfinance institutions, non-government organizations, cooperatives, trusts, and foundations, will host a three day training on process mapping.  MicroSave defines process mapping as a method of looking beyond functions, such as marketing or accounting, to reveal the core processes of an organization and discover how its different parts work together to serve customers.  MicroSave contends that effective process mapping allows financial service providers to optimize policies and procedures, risk analysis, internal controls, among other functions

The course, which is taught through a combination of case studies, presentations, exercises, and group discussions, is geared towards senior and mid-level management of microfinance institutions.  Hitendrea Shanker, head of Parishkaar’s Business Development and Knowledge Development Groups, will facilitate the training.  Mr. Shanker is an alum of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, and has a background in rural finance, agricultural marketing, and microfinance.

The cost of the three day course is Rs. 15,000, approximately USD 400.  The fee covers lodging, meals, course materials, and a course completion certificate.  Scholarships covering 25% of the cost sponsored by Cocoon Capital of India will be made available to the first 15 registrants.
