MICROCAPITAL EVENT: TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE INVESTING (TBLI) 2008 EUROPE CONFERENCE

NOVEMBER 13-14, AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS

Brooklyn Bridge – Triple Bottom Line Investing (TBLI) Group will host the TBLI 2008 Europe Conference, an annual international learning and networking event focusing on sustainable development, from Thursday, November 13 to Friday, November 14 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky.  The conference runs from 9:00am until 5:30pm (Central European Time) each day.  There is an additional one-day seminar on Wednesday, November 12 entitled “Integrating ESG Into Portfolios.”

The conference is comprised of several keynote addresses, workshops and panels that touch on a broad range of topics, including: climate change and the banking sector, microfinance laws, investing in CEE countries, sustainable mobility, high net worth wealth management, EU policy changes and their impact on the financial sector, investments in clean technologies, rating agencies, green real estate and sovereign wealth funds.  According to TBLI, the conference is meant to bring together the “world’s leaders on sustainability” to network and to exchange information and ideas on recent trends in screening, auditing, reporting, socially responsible investment (SRI) analysis, corporate citizenship, indexes and research.  The list of attendees includes representatives from microfinance institutions (MFIs), investment bankers, social entrepreneurs, fund managers, researchers, environmentalists and other SRI stakeholders.

Robert Rubinstein, founder and CEO of the TBLI Conference/TBLI Consulting/TBLI Academy, will give the opening welcome on Thursday morning.  Paul Watchman of the Author Freshields Report will give the opening keynote address, and Robert Swan, founder of 2041, will give the closing keynote address.  An “ESG Leaders Awards Ceremony” will take place on Thursday evening to honor environmental and social governance in the investor, investment management and research community.  A complete program is available here.
