This event is intended to advance dialogue on the challenges associated with financial inclusion. Although the agenda has not been released to date, last year’s iteration of the summit featured sessions including: (1) Beyond Three Decades: New Pathways for the SHG [Self-help Group] Movement; (2) Scanning the Investment Landscape: Emerging Opportunities Beyond Lending Models; (3) Digital Financial Services and Data Protection: Balancing Innovation with Safeguards; (4) Creating Ecosystems to Drive Fintech and Innovation: Lessons from Malaysia; (5) Digital Transformation of Financial Institutions Catering to the Informal Sector: Responding to and Preparing for Changing Customer Needs; and (6) Designing Gender-focused Financial Inclusion: Strategies & Action.
The event also features the Inclusive Finance India Awards, which dates to 2009 and comprises categories such as: (1) Microfinance Organization of the Year; (2) Financial Inclusion by a Small Finance Bank; and (3) Fintech for Financial Inclusion.
Background on Organizer: Access Development Services was established in 2006 in India with support from the UK government. The NGO seeks to alleviate poverty by acting as a consultant to microfinance institutions, offering capacity building and other forms of technical assistance on organizational structure, portfolio management and internal financial management. Access is active in 32 agriculture and other sectors in nine Indian states.
Cost: The full fee to attend the event is INR 12,500 (USD 150) for Indian citizens and USD 550 for international delegates, but various discounts are offered, including for all who register by December 19.
