The second Asia Financial Institutions Forum (AFIFORUM) aims to connect stakeholders in Asia’s financial industry to “catalyze debt raising, equity investments and technical assistance programs” to support “a resilient financial system that combines financial inclusion and private sector growth with sustainable development.” Specific topics range from “building climate resilience in Asia’s most vulnerable regions” to supporting Asian markets in getting on target to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The forum also includes an innovation challenge on developing local capital markets and informal pitch sessions to investors.
Background on Organizer(s): AFIFORUM is organized by Cardano Development and Footlight International. Cardano Development is a Dutch NGO that focuses on improving the financial resilience of developing economies. It is a member of the Cardano Group, a privately-owned company focusing on risk management. Footlight International is a Netherlands-based social enterprise that focuses on capacity building and networking to support financial inclusion and business development in unbanked regions of Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Cardano Development and Footlight International have also collaborated to organize the Middle East and North Africa Financial Forum (MENAFIF).
Cost: The cost of attendance is USD 350 until December 4. Beginning December 5, the fee to attend rises to USD 495.
