Cost: The standard registration fee is USD 300 with a rate of USD 250 offered for Caribbean participants. Discounted rates are available to Caribbean MicroFinance Alliance (CMFA) members at USD 200, entrepreneurs and students at USD 175, and one-day admission tickets at USD 150.
Summary of Event: This event aims to bring together staff of microfinance institutions to discuss microlending business models, youth entrepreneurship, new technologies in mobile money and limiting dependency on the agriculture sector for economic growth, among other matters. This event was originally scheduled to take place in Suriname, beginning on March 31.
Background on Organizer: This forum is supported by CMFA, a network of 24 microfinance practitioners in the Caribbean, and the Caribbean Capacity Building Microfinance Project, a joint effort of the US-based Multilateral Investment Fund, the Caribbean Development Bank, the European Union and US-based Citi Foundation.
