Cost: The standard registration fee is EUR 650 (USD 730) with a rate of EUR 250 (USD 280) offered to members of the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP). Students may apply for a discounted price of EUR 100 (USD 112).
Event Summary: European Microfinance Week is an annual event organized by e-MFP and supported by the Luxembourg government to provide a discussion and networking platform for organizations active in microfinance. For 2015, the theme of the event is “Financial Inclusion for Sustainable Development”[1], which includes topics such as green microfinance, sustainable development, microfinance investment vehicles (MIVs), digital services and financial inclusion for youth and farmers. On the first day, nine long-term action groups will meet to review their progress in areas such as youth, university connections, environment and research. The University Meets Microfinance Award Ceremony as well as the Sixth European Microfinance Award Ceremony will also be held at this event.
Background on Organizer: Founded in 2006, the European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) is a network of approximately 120 microfinance organizations and individuals that aims to promote information exchange and other forms of cooperation among European microfinance actors working in developing countries. The membership includes financial institutions, government agencies, NGOs, consultancies, researchers and universities.
