EUROPEAN MICROFINANCE WEEK 2007
NOVEMBER 27-29, LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG
The European Microfinance Platform (e-MFP) will host its 2007 Annual Conference, themed, “European responses to global microfinance challenges” in Luxembourg, Luxembourg.
The e-MFP was created in October 2005 to encourage good practices and to advance European support for microfinance institutions (MFIs) in developing countries. The e-MFP’s primary objectives are to:
- Enhance European dialogue, mutual learning, and competence in microfinance practices
- Promote innovative and inclusive financial sector development strategies, policies and concepts
- Provide an open platform of microfinance experts, practitioners, researchers and policy makers
- Facilitate exchange of microfinance policy issues with European institutions and governments.
The conference will offer both panel and interactive discussion sessions designed to allow attendees to learn more about microfinance strategies of fellow attendees, to share experience regarding topics of interest, and to participate in e-MFP working groups that explore various topics. Some working group topics include: innovation for rural outreach, linking banks and MFIs, social performance of MFIs, capacity building, and European microfinance policy.
