Summary of Event: This event will consist of talks, debates and roundtable discussions about how new technology and other recent developments in financial inclusion impact poverty alleviation and the wellbeing of poor people in general. In addition, a competition will be held for pre-selected students from local colleges who have developed projects that address “the needs of traditionally marginalized populations in the US and abroad.” (Students can no longer apply to be involved in the competition)
Background on Organizers: This event is hosted by the Fletcher School, the international affairs program of US-based Tufts University in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a US-based nonprofit, and MasterCard Worldwide, a US-based financial services firm.
