Even as worldwide access to financial services expands, women remain underrepresented among elected officeholders. This panel discussion will center on how access to finance can increase the political empowerment of women. The panelists include representatives of CARE International, a 14-member coalition of anti-poverty NGOs; the National Democratic Institute, a US-based nonprofit; and Nathan Associates, a US-based consulting firm.
Background on Organizer: Launched in 2017, FINCA Impact Finance is a for-profit entity controlled by the US-based Foundation for International Community Assistance (FINCA International). FINCA International is an NGO that was founded in 1984 and reports 2018 revenue of USD 328 million. As of 2020, FINCA Impact Finance provides microfinance services to 2.7 million customers in 20 countries. It has a loan portfolio of USD 855 million and USD 432 million in total deposits.
