MICROFINANCE EVENT: FinovateSpring; May 18-20, 2022; San Francisco, California, USA

FinovateSpring is one of a series of conferences focusing on financial technology (fintech). The event is scheduled to include demonstrations of new fintech products, networking opportunities and approximately 175 speakers, with a focus on the impact of COVID-19 on fintechs and startups. Although the agenda for 2022 has yet to be announced, the agenda for the 2021 edition, which was held online, included sessions such as “How Can Traditional Financial Institutions Really Adapt to a Digital Culture?” and “What’s The Story: What Can The US Learn From the Most Exciting Innovations Happening Now in Asia; India & Africa?”.

Background on Organizer: The US-based Finovate conference series began offering events on innovation in the banking and fintech sectors in 2007. It is a unit of InformaConnect, a UK-based research and events firm.

Cost: The full fee to attend is USD 1,698. A “demo days” pass, priced at USD 1,299, covers attendance on May 18 and May 19. The “conference day” pass, priced at USD 899, gives access to the proceedings on May 20. Discounts are available for groups, representatives of government, those from certain categories of fintechs, and those registering by January 7. Details and pricing for an online pass are under development.
