Background on Organizers: Founded in 2012, the Netherlands-based Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) has 200 members. It offers market information; discussion and learning forums; and information on best practices in business, finance and technology as they relate to the off-grid solar energy industry.
The International Finance Corporation’s (IFC’s) Lighting Global platform aims “to support sustainable growth of the international off-grid solar market as a means of rapidly increasing energy access to the 789 million people living without electricity.” IFC is a member of the World Bank Group.
Established in 1962, Rwanda’s Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA) seeks to improve infrastructure across the “transport, energy, water supply and sanitation, housing and human settlement sectors’’ to boost socio-economic development.
Cost: The fee to attend the entire event is USD 1,230, but one may enter only the exhibition area for USD 30. Discounts are offered for GOGLA members and will be considered for small organizations and companies from lower-income nations.
