MICROFINANCE EVENT: Livelihoods India Summit; December 12 – 13, 2019; New Delhi, India

Targeting “issues that impede and afflict the livelihoods of the poor,” the ninth Livelihoods India Summit will address topics such as “inclusive value chains, technology infusion for livelihoods enhancement, women[’s] enterprises, [and the impact of] climate change…”. No detailed agenda has been released.

Background on Organizer: Access Development Services was established in 2006 to alleviate poverty in India with support from the UK Department for International Development. It is an India-based nonprofit consultant to microfinance institutions (MFIs). Access offers capacity building and other forms of technical assistance on organizational structure, portfolio management and internal financial management. As of March 2018 Access reported 12-month revenue of INR 151 million (USD 2.11 million). Access operates 32 agricultural and other programs in nine Indian states.

Cost: The cost of attending the event is INR 6,000 (USD 85) for Indian nationals and USD 350 for international delegates. Discounts are available for groups of four or more attendees as well as for representatives of various constituencies, according to the list at https://register.accessdev.org/.
