Global Youth Enterprise Conference 2008

September 15-16, 2008, George Washington University Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) in Washington, DC

The conference will discuss solutions for and the implications of high youth unemployment in developing countries. Topics will include the effects of HIV/AIDS, gender, war and conflict, and illegal activities such as drug and human trafficking. The conference will also cover technical themes, including market-driven approaches and methodologies for impact assessments.

The featured speakers of the event are Dr Imran Matin of BRAC, a non-profit microfinance institution in Bangladesh, and Dr. Markus Goldstein of the World Bank. Dr. Matin is the director of BRAC’s Research and Evaluation Division and Africa Programs. Dr. Goldstein focuses on poverty and gender issues as a senior economist for the Africa Region of the World Bank.

The cost is USD 575 per individual or USD 550 per person for three or more registrants from the same organization. Following the conference, Making Cents International will also host the Youth Financial Services: Emerging Best Practices course from September 17-19, 2008.
