Summary of Event: Making Cents International is aiming, through this conference, to convene practitioners, donors, educators, researchers, policymakers, youth entrepreneurs and other partners in youth enterprise, employment and livelihoods development. The course of events will include networking, exploring strategies to successfully partner with the private sector (including multinational corporations, small businesses and microfinance institutions) and learning from innovators in the industry.
Background on Organizer: Founded in 1999, Making Cents International is focused building the youth microenterprise sector. Through the organization of learning opportunities and networks, Making Cents intends to inspire youth, practitioners, policy makers and funders to more effectively share and develop partnerships, programs and policies that support youth entrepreneurs. The organization focuses on providing a demand-driven and participatory learning space where members of all sectors can share information of programs, methodologies, strategies and tools; network to build partnerships; gain new technical capacity; and help build the youth enterprise, employment and livelihoods development field.
Event Themes and Discussion Topics: The 2010 conference is being structured around five functional tracks. Track 1: Youth Enterprise Development; Track 2: Workforce Development; Track 3: Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Assessment; Track 4: Youth-Inclusive Financial Services & Financial Capabilities; Track 5: Adolescent Girls & Young Women
