Event Summary: Mobile Money Asia 2013, known in previous years as Mobile Money APAC, is aimed at those interested in setting up mobile money services as well as those already established in the industry. January 28th and 31st are pre- and post-conference workshops while January 29th and 30th consists of the main conference sessions. These sessions will focus on mobile payments and point-of-sale technology, risk management, advertising models, how mobile transactions affect consumer purchase decisions and using microcredit models to extend financial services to the underbanked.
The pre-conference workshop on January 28th is a training session geared towards mobile financial service providers. The session will be led by Andrew Lake, Principal Operations Officer for the Retail Payment Institutions and Innovations Office of the US-based International Finance Corporation. Mr. Lake will cover distribution models including ways to create successful agent networks. The post-conference workshop is comprised of three networking sessions and four information sessions that cover mobile commerce.
Background on Organizers: This event is hosted by Clarion Events, a British events company that operates 200 conferences annually focusing on payments innovation, telecommunications, government and emerging technologies.
