MICROFINANCE EVENT: Sanabel Conference: “Client Centricity: The Road to Greater Financial Inclusion;” POSTPONED; Hurghada, Egypt

Themed “Client Centricity: The Road to Greater Financial Inclusion,” the 15th Sanabel conference will showcase the experiences of financial service providers (FSPs) as they strive to focus more on client needs. While the complete agenda has not yet been released, the session tracks include: (1) Human-Centered Design: A Powerful Tool in Achieving Greater Client Centricity; (2) Nanofinance: the Missing Bottom; and (3) Digital Transformation.

Background on Organizers: Sanabel was launched in 2002 to promote financial inclusion in Arab countries. In particular, the organization seeks to help its 90 member FSPs provide low-income individuals with access to affordable financial products while maximizing the use of “best practices, transparency and client protection.” It also seeks to promote enabling regulatory environments and the establishment of national microfinance networks. Sanabel is registered as a nonprofit organization in the US city of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as in Cairo, Egypt, where it is headquartered. As of 2018, its membership spans 13 nations.

Cost: The standard fee to attend is USD 1,000, but a rate of USD 800 is offered to representatives of Sanabel members and all attendees from Egypt. A discount of USD 150 per person is available for groups of five or more.
