SEEP 2008 ANNUAL CONFERENCE
NOVEMBER 4-7, 2008 CRYSTAL GATEWAY MARRIOTT HOTEL, ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA
Through July 19th, Small Enterprise Education and Promotion Network (SEEP), an international organization with the goal of connecting microenterprise practitioners via a global learning community, will be accepting proposals, consisting of a 200 word description of topics and learning objectives for workshops and panel discussions. Multiple proposals from the same author will be accepted. All proposals should be sent to Sabina Rogers at annualconference@seepnetwork.org .
The workshops and panel discussions will take place at SEEP’s 2008 Annual Meeting entitled “Powering Connections” to be held November 4-7, 2008 in Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. SEEP will be hosting the conference with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
As reported by MicroCapital, SEEP’s 2007 Conference attracted over 500 participants, including practitioners, donors, investors and other key stakeholders in microfinance and it discussed topics ranging from rural development, technology, collaborative partnerships and microfinance in capital markets. SEEP changed locations for its 2008 conference because of expectations of increased attendance. While costs for the 2008 conference have not been announced, the cost for the 2007 conference was USD 225/day for SEEP network members and USD 300/day for non-members.
