Cost: The cost of registration for investors or financial institution representatives is USD 1,000 while the rate for staff of microfinance institutions (MFIs), NGOs and foundations is USD 600. Tickets can be purchased until October 16, 2012.

Summary of Event: This two-day event will examine microfinance globally over the last decade and explore future opportunities in the field. This year’s theme is “investing in client-focused institutions,” and conference sessions will emphasize the importance of investing in women. The topics to be covered include: meeting social and gender goals, debt and equity investments, investor perspectives, tools for leveraging data, rural and agricultural finance, regulators, and mobile platforms for innovative products.

Background on Organizer: Women’s World Banking (WWB) is a nonprofit organization based in New York that was founded in 1979 to help women around the world through microfinance. As of 2012, WWB members serve 26 million active clients in 28 countries. As of 2011, WWB reports total assets of USD 30.5 million, an outstanding loan portfolio of USD 7 billion and USD 3.5 billion in deposits.
