MIX (Microfinance Information Exchange) has released the annual Global 100 Composite Ranking. Using 2007 data reported to us from microfinance institutions (MFIs) throughout the developing world, MIX created a ranking and report to illustrate the successes – and challenges – MFIs experience in providing financial services to the unbanked.
This ranking attempts to provide a composite, but by no means definitive, picture of MFI performance. We believe it is an excellent place to begin conversations about what constitutes success in the microfinance community and a starting point for analysis of institutions operating in the sector.

MIX has also created an Excel version of the Composite Rankings, which allows MFIs to see how improvements in performance would impact their overall ranking. Click the link to access the zip file with the Excel spreadsheet: Composite ranking Tables.
