Womens World Banking (WWB), a global microfinance network based out of New York City, will work with Mexican rural microfinance institution Grupo Financiero Banorte (Banorte) to host a two day workshop in Monterrey, Mexico starting on 21 February, 2007. As reported by Ascribe, a public interest newspaper based out of California, the workshop will bring together over 100 rural development and financial experts who will discuss the rural markets and agricultural risks faced by farmers and will explore strategies for tailoring microfinance to rural customers.
