Korea Overhauls Microfinance App, Cuts Loan Search Time by 30%

30 October 2026

The Korea Inclusive Finance Agency (KIFA) revamped the loan comparison and search function on its flagship microfinance app Inclusive Finance Itda, with the revamp shaving about 30% off the time needed to find suitable loan products.

The most significant change is a streamlining of the search process. Before, users had to run two separate searches - one for bank and non-bank lenders, and another to zero in on government-backed inclusive finance products. Now, all commercial lending and policy loans are findable in a single step, a shift KIFA says slashes the number of user actions required from three to two.

The app now provides deeper comparison details, enabling users to get at key differences like early repayment fees and whether opening a dedicated account is mandatory for the loan. KIFA used the revamp to also spruce up the user interface and overall experience.

The overhaul affects the core lending marketplace of the platform, which compares pricing and terms on 110 policy-based inclusive finance and general unsecured loan products from 67 lenders, from national banks to online-only players. The destination also routes users to integrated support services matched to their circumstances.

Together, these moves deliver a leaner, more transparent decision-making experience to financially vulnerable borrowers. For KIFA president Kim Eun-kyung, the focus was on refocusing the app on its core value: "Making financial product search and comparison easier and more intuitive for our target users."
